redefine creativity.

“Creativity is permitted within the parameters of the guidance of licensed professionals whose duty it is to make sure we don’t get too wacky with our ideas or stray very far from the boundaries of normalcy.” - Terry Everton.

the definition of creativity is:

“the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something innovative.”

or

“the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, and relationships, and generate meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations.”

this definition clearly captures that creativity is about grappling something that is stagnant and encumbered by tradition, morphing and adding value.

being creative is about bringing new solutions to old problems, fresh perspectives and aha moments.  It’s about new connections.  it’s the essential component of innovation. heck it’s really about all things new. and who is the one that makes all things new? jesus.

so why are we confining our creativity to the standards of old? how contradictory. let’s unleash ourselves from what’s deemed “normal”, partner with jesus and bring about a creative revolution like the world has never seen!!

i was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little home for me.

re-established…

Jesus: i am your perfect refuge. i have loved you with an everlasting love. nothing you could ever do could change my love for you.

broke off: anger, wandering spirit, restlessness [20 lbs lighter]

Father God: i have an abundant overflow of people for your life. i always keep my promises. you are who i made you. your gifts are for keeps.

its ok to DREAM BIG.

allow people to love you. for i know the plans i have for you…for my burden is easy and my yoke is light. including you.

Holy Spirit:  i am your true advocate. i will teach you all my ways.

exchanged key of fear for a key of abundant life.

doors closed: fear. hatred. occult.

tore down the high places.

VICTORIOUS.

down in your valley…

come and sit beside me. and let me rest my head down in your valley. and measure this sadness on the scale of god’s love. but i rather just die now. i rather just grieve. i rather just kill all the strength you handing to me. i’m weak and unsettled as i look to the cross. oh how will i manage this unbearable loss? i’m on the heels of another storm. the fire is glistening. your message is to warn, but i am not listening.

lord, how far are the consequences of our choices? ours reach everyone around us. and theirs reach all the way to us. overlapping. intertwining. echoing. ever-rippling. all for the good of those who love you. despite our destructive choices.

words of the week.

humility:

the place of entire dependence upon God.

takes the right attitude before God and allows him, as God, to do all.

sense of entire nothingness that comes when we see how truly God is everything.

pride:

the loss of humility.

the desire to be as God.

- humility by andrew murray
